#QUAKE 3 DREAMCAST MAPS PC#
The graphics were much better looking than this - I can only assume the guy who's posted these has recorded them on a pc running them at a lower resolution.Īnother Dreamcast map that looked great and probably could have made the port over to Quake Live was 'Evil Playground'Īnother good thing about the maps I mention here 'Hidden Fortress' - ' Blue Monday' and 'Evil Playground' were the textures - they really weren't used anywhere else. Here are some videos of the Dreamcast maps in their original state. The three maps that made the port to Quake Live: House of Decay / Blue Monday Hidden Fortress Sacellum / Temple of Pain / Dark Chapel I remember telling 2GD and Joe about these when they were released and they went on about it on an IEM show :o) The best two maps made it across to Quake Live and they were 'Hidden Fortress' and 'Blue Monday' (which was re-textured for 'Team Arena' and re-named 'House of Decay') they also reworked the teleporters and made them reversible. There were a mouse and keyboard available and if people with pc's downloaded the Dreamcast map-pack you could play against each other online. (Some of the people responsible for maps here ended up working for id on level design) The Dreamcast port of Quake III Arena by Raster Productions was very good indeed.īoth in looks and in staying faithful to the original game. Longer Answer - Yes (possibly 'Evil Playground' for FFA) If you want to post the exact maps you're looking for I'll help you find them.Īs cityy says though - you won't get 'Furious Heights' (officially) So find the original names or better still map numbers - and you'll do ok. 'Almost Lost' is also out there for QIII (original Tourney 6?)

Find that first - then search lvlworld or Mr Google for the maps you want - you'll be able to get most - bear in mind though that there will likely be some differences to what your're used to. There should be a list with new and old names somewhere. A lot of them were stupidly changed when they were re-worked for Quake Live. You may get on better looking for some of the maps by finding out their original names. on DM17 you don't die if you fall off into the void - you just 'warp' back and respawn - ridiculous :o) You'll also get most of the original maps - some with slight re-works

'House of Decay' and 'Hidden Fortress' were both released originally for the Sega Dreamcast (think the 1st one also made Team Arena.? I'd need to check)īut back then it was called 'Blue Monday' and had a better look and textures to it.Īnd will automatically slip into your QIII pk3Īs stated above by Gobotz though - the teleporters work differently
